Lalit Kumar, the producer of LEO, recently said that Thalapathy Vijay was hesitant to make it a pan-Indian picture, and it was he and director Lokesh Kanagaraj who persuaded the actor differently. Vijay was opposed to making Leo a pan-India film because he wanted to please the Tamil audience.

Thalapathy Vijay, one of Tamil cinema’s top stars, will appear in Leo shortly. The film has generated a lot of excitement among fans since it is supposed to be part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). The blockbuster will be released in numerous languages, making it a pan-India film.

“Initially, Vijay wasn’t interested in making Leo a pan-Indian film,” Lalit said. He wanted us to produce a film for our people only, but he consented later after Lokesh and I pressed and convinced him that the film would be hugely successful outside boundaries of TN”

Thalapathy Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj earlier collaborated on Master, which was a box office success. They’ve reunited once more for Leo. LEO will be released in October 2023.
